But we have noticed that many of our broadband customers are only experiencing a fraction of the performance allowed by our network due to internal settings on their own computer. The is normally related to a network MTU setting which are not optimized.

To ensure that your Windows operating system is optimized, please download, and run this free utility called TCP Optimizer from our friends at www.speedguide.net.

Once downloaded, run the program and make sure you have selected the following options:

• Extreme - Will optimize your computer for Ayustar Broadband network which runs many times faster than either DSL or Cable Modem.
• Modify All Network Adapters - Will ensure that the settings are applied to all of your network connections on your PC.
• Optimal Settings - This will ensure that your MTU, and other various settings are set to the best configuration based on your computer.

Once you have completed these steps, Apply changes and reboot your computer.

If you are running a personal firewall device, you should remove it for the purposes of these adjustments, and tests. Please contact the technical support team for the manufacturer of your firewall  or more information about adjusting the MTU setting on your firewall to a value of 1500.
