How Acceleration is Achieved iNET Accelerator uses several patented and proprietary algorithms that greatly compress web pages and e-mail messages. Pictures and other graphic images are usually responsible for the most of the content size. The compression routines strip out a pre-determined amount of colors and pixels (the components that make up image files) to reduce the size of the image. This, in turn, reduces the overall size of the information being sent. You can choose your speed setting. To achieve the fastest speed the compression routines strip out more from the images. This, of course, will impact the quality of the images. However, you will be surprised at how little the quality is impacted. You can choose to receive a little less speed improvement and improve the quality. There are 4 settings of speed / quality. By playing with these settings you should find a level of both speed and quality you can be comfortable with. Please remember you will still see good acceleration at any of the 4 settings. While browsing web pages, if you would like to see a page at a different quality level, change the speed setting to the new level and refresh the web page. See Improving the quality of an image for more information. While information is being downloaded from or uploaded to the Internet you will notice a vertical bar scroll across the iNET Accelerator icon located in the system tray (usually located in the lower right-hand corner of the desk top). iNET Accelerator Icon
